π Pickup Disclaimer & Terms of Understanding
By booking with Junk Geek, LLC. β you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined below. These terms protect your property, our staff, and your peace of mind.
π« Access & Entry Policy
Junk Geek operates curbside-first, but we may access garages, carports, or open exterior spaces that are safe and easy to reach. We do not enter homes, tight indoor spaces, or areas requiring stairs, navigation around personal items, or specialized access.
β οΈ Safety & Property Protection
We reserve the right to decline or reschedule service if your property conditions present a safety risk β including aggressive pets, unsecured items, flooding, or unstable ground. Any delays due to unsafe or blocked access may result in a failed transaction fee.
Junk Geek is not responsible for incidental property damage during normal operation (e.g. scraping curbs, driveways, fences during haul-out). Ensure a clear path is provided.
πΈ Disclosure of Unsafe Junk Items
If items are infested, contain mold, broken glass, sharp metal, human/animal waste, or other biohazards, they must be disclosed in advance via notes or photos. Junk Geek reserves the right to refuse service on dangerous items, even if pre-scheduled.
π Reuse, Resale, and Sustainability
Junk Geek strives to minimize landfill impact. Items may be repurposed, rethrifted, donated, or resold at our discretion.
πΌ No credit or discount will be issued based on your junkβs resale value or potential. Once discarded, ownership is transferred to Junk Geek, LLC. β This protects us legally and supports sustainable operations.
ποΈ What We Donβt Take
Loose yard waste (must be bagged)
Refrigerators with food inside
Paints, oils, gasoline, chemicals
Medical, biological, or hazardous materials
Stolen or unclaimed property
β Submitting items outside these guidelines may result in surcharges or cancellation.
πΈ Refunds & Failed Transactions
Refunds are not guaranteed for:
No-shows
Unsafe or blocked access
Misrepresentation of items
Incomplete placement of junk on the curb
Client refusing service upon arrival
Failed or canceled bookings may incur partial charges to recover dispatch or labor costs.

Client Acknowledgment of Delivery
For all delivery services, a signature is required at the time of drop-off to confirm receipt of the item(s). This signature does not confirm the condition, functionality, or completeness of the item(s), but solely acknowledges that the delivery was made to the requested location.
π 1. Access Policy for Pickups & Drop-Offs
We offer curbside, front-door or garage-level pickup and delivery. Our team does not enter homes or move items up/downstairs. All items must be placed in or received from an easily accessible area unless agreed to in writing-fees apply.
π 2. Marketplace Pickup Disclaimer
For pickups from platforms like Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp, etc.:
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel a pickup if the location appears unsafe or suspicious
We may request that sellers meet us at a public, neutral location
We do not inspect or verify items β this is solely the buyerβs responsibility
Any visible damage must be disclosed in writing (via booking form, text, or email) before pickup
Verbal disclosures are not valid
β οΈ We are not responsible for scams, misrepresented items, lost funds, or failed transactions β including cancellations made due to safety concerns.
π¬ 3. Retail Store Pickup Notice
For retail pickups (e.g. Home Depot, Loweβs, Walmart, etc.):
Some stores may require ID or purchase verification β you may need to meet us on site
We are not responsible for store-related errors, order delays, or issues with staff
It is assumed your order is paid for, correct, and ready at time of pickup
π§ 4. Light Assembly Policy
We provide basic assembly (e.g. furniture from Amazon, Wayfair, etc.) under these conditions:
All pieces and hardware are present
Full manufacturer instructions are included
The area is clean, safe, and accessible
Assembly can be completed within 30β60 minutes *later date assembly can be arranged.
We do not assemble:
Used or marketplace items
Items without instructions
Furniture missing hardware or parts
Items requiring fabrication, drilling, or major modification
Assembly must be requested at the time of booking and may incur an additional charge.
If assembly cannot be completed due to missing parts or instructions, only the assembly fee may be refunded.
π¦ 5. Item Condition & Liability
The Haul Dept. is not liable for:
Items breaking due to poor packaging, manufacturer defect, or client mishandling
Items that are incomplete, non-functional, or missing hardware
Installations that require tools outside our standard scope (e.g. wall mounts, anchors, drills)
Clients are solely responsible for verifying item condition, completeness, and readiness prior to booking.
β οΈ 6. Safety & Right to Refuse Service
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel service if:
The environment is unsafe (e.g. aggressive pets, hazardous materials, blocked access)
There is suspicion of illegal activity, scams, or fraud
The request exceeds the scope of booked service
π 7. Ownership, Disposal & Resale
Once an item is picked up for disposal or removal, it becomes property of The Haul Dept. β and may be discarded, reused, resold, repurposed, or donated at our discretion.
We do not issue refunds or credits based on any perceived resale value.
This ensures legal ownership transfer and protects all parties.
πΈ 8. Booking Fees, Refunds & Cancellations
made within 12 hours of your scheduled time may incur a fee.
We do not issue refunds for:
No-shows or client unavailability
Misrepresented item details
Unsafe or blocked locations
Incorrect addresses provided by the client
Items requiring more time, labor, or tools than described at booking
